ABOUT THE PROJECT

THE SKATE QUESTION.

Skateboarding beyond the tricks: stories and questions about society, history, public space and skate culture.

WHO / WHY / HOW

A publication built to connect skateboarding culture and rigorous research.

Why this project?

Skateboarding is more than a sequence of tricks. It is shaped by people, institutions, local environments, social relationships and the meanings assigned to particular spaces. The Skate Question examines those relationships through accessible, evidence-based editorial stories.

How we work

Questions first. Every story begins with an investigable question, not a predetermined conclusion.

Evidence with context. We distinguish scholarly findings, historical records and interpretation, without treating one study as proof of a universal claim.

Attribution and image permissions. An image appearing online does not establish permission to reuse or transform it.

Corrections. When evidence changes or an error is identified, we aim to explain the correction transparently.
